A Grown Up Tea Party

This past weekend Lexie had her bridal shower and it was AMAZEEE. You might recognize her from posts such as Dreamy Beach Engagement Shoot and Stuck In A Snowstorm, and might recall that I have the honor of shooting her wedding next June!

Lexie is the owner of a cute lifestyle blog and makes adorable cookies, so I already knew her bridal shower was going to be magazine-worthy. Her (superhero) mom, Cheryl, was up at 4am to finish decorating and baking the most delicious treats. The theme was 'Pretty in Pink' and it was like a doll tea party had come to life! Each girl had a name-card set upon the prettiest china, with tea pots, scones and party favors scattered along the table.

Once all the girls had arrived, Lexie made a grand entrance in a stunning white two-piece outfit, followed by her cousin and maid-of-honor, Camryn. Cheryl had prepared so many different delicious salads and sandwiches and you didn't have to ask us twice to tuck into the buffet.

After we were done eating, it was time for some fun games about the bride and groom. We were each handed a questionnaire and a timer was set. Kaitlyn surprised everyone by beating Lexie's family members in the 'How Well Do You Know Lexie' quiz. We then played an hilarious game of he-said, she-said and everyone got a better insight of Lexie's soon-to-be husband, Brandon.

When the games were finished, we all shamelessly snacked on some more cupcakes and treats and watched Lexie open her gifts. With a new house on the horizon, Lexie's gifts all had a common theme: gorgeous copper houseware. Her grandmother also gifted her a beautiful handmade quilt with some pictures from their engagement shoot and engraved were the words 'Always Kiss Me Goodnight'. Adorable.

After the presents were done, we all moved outside to the balcony and sipped on some sangria in the perfect San Francisco fall weather. Overall it was such a beautiful day and just a taste of what her wedding will be like next June!

TAHOE'S FOR LOVERS

This past weekend Broc and I decided to head up to Tahoe with one of his best friends, Brandon, and his beautiful fiancee, Lexie. We took our little pup, Loki, so he could experience his first snow... and snow is what we got!

We went straight to Boreal Mountain for their $15 college student Friday's (my 2011 ID from my one semester is still going strong - heck yeah!) and drove straight into a winter wonderland. Loki got out of the car and preceded to go absolutely nuts digging and eating the snow which was pretty adorable. I like to think that as a husky he's had daily dreams of running across big, snowy plains and all his dreams were suddenly coming true when his four little paws hit that white fluff.

I've been to Tahoe for a few New Year's celebrations and once in the summer, but I've never been to a Tahoe like the one we experienced this past weekend. It's safe to say that this is the most snow they've gotten in many years. Just driving through the roads, the snow walls on each side were about 8ft high!

We snowboarded, snacked, drank, lost money in the casino, drank some more, ate icecream, and laughed. When we tried to leave on Monday morning (President's Day) we were in for a wild ride. They closed the road for avalanche control which resulted in us making it a whopping 4 miles in 4 hours. After a quick photoshoot in the blizzard and Loki demolishing all our snacks, we decided it was time to turn around and head back to South Lake Tahoe for a well deserved beverage.

Till next time Tahoe!

NEW YEARS EVE

This year we decided to spend NYE with some of Broc's friends in Discovery Bay. To kick off the night we enjoyed a delicious salmon meal cooked by my boo (round 2 after Loki ate the first batch off the counter). We then had teeny tiramisu cups for dessert that were absolutely delicious and I was satisfied to call it a night at 8pm. But party we must. After downing the better half of 3 bottles of champagne, I was ready to put my new flash to the ultimate test. Determined to capture every moment and kiss I'm pretty sure I heard a collective sigh of relief when my battery finally died.

MADISON

While I was home for the holidays I got the chance to meet my beautiful new little niece, Madi. I couldn't resist pulling out my camera and snapping some photos of this perfect little nugget!
