Hi, I'm Nicola! Pronounced 'Nic-uh-la'.

I was born in South Africa, grew up in England, and somehow ended up in Sacramento. (The accent has mostly disappeared, though it makes a reliable comeback whenever I'm on the phone with my parents.)

My love of cameras started at twelve, and it's safe to say I've come a long way since then. Before picking up a camera professionally, I competed as a wakeboarder and traveled the world for over a decade (3x world champ right here!). I started out shooting sports. but no matter where I was or what was happening in front of me, I kept finding myself drawn to the same thing: the people.

The expressions, the relationships, the unguarded moments between the action. That pull never went away.

In 2024 I became a mother, and something shifted. Watching my son grow — the milestones, the tiny fleeting things that are gone before you've even registered them — has changed the way I see this work entirely. I understood intellectually that photographs matter. Now I feel it. And it makes me show up differently for every single session I photograph.

I love every part of a wedding day. The nerves while getting ready, the moment you finally get to see your person at the altar, a long dinner surrounded by everyone you love, the toasts that make you cry and laugh in the same breath, and the last song of the night when nobody wants it to end. After eight years I still feel all of it.

My approach is quiet and instinctive. I'll give you direction when you need it, but mostly I like to disappear and let things unfold naturally. When your gallery lands in your inbox, you'll look at some of these photos and genuinely wonder when I even took them. That's exactly what I'm going for.

If you feel like we’d be a good fit…
